We have a serious case of March GLADNESS for the MomsRising community!

Your generosity helped score a big March win that protects lifesaving nutrition assistance for new moms, babies, and toddlers; kick off the largest class of national volunteer mom leaders in our history; champion increased funding for childcare; and more.

Your March MOMentum has been nothing short of exhilarating! Just like in basketball where every player's contribution is crucial, every action you take with MomsRising – whether giving a gift, signing a petition, making a call, going to a meeting or event, sharing your story, or other – makes a significant impact. And the points we put on the board all add up together!

As we continue to harness our Mom Power, we're confident that we'll achieve even more victories for moms and families in the months and years to come.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Your dedication to our cause is what drives us forward, and we can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together next.

With deepest appreciation,

Kerri, Kristin, Jessica, Nancy, Maggie, and everyone at MomsRising

ACTION OF THE MONTH: Protect Access to IVF

Sign our letter to Congress urging them to protect access to IVF and the full range of reproductive health care for families in Alabama and across the country.

The generosity of MomsRising donors powers up this campaign. Thank you!

MOMS SAVE WIC

In March the MomsRising community celebrated a major, meaningful victory for moms — the restoration of full funding for WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children). This victory is in no small part due to YOU and the MomsRising community. We’re thrilled to share the WIC funding covers all eligible pregnant and postpartum women, babies, and toddlers for the remainder of the year.

In fact, MomsRising members like you were deeply engaged in this fight – and in making this victory happen. We submitted more than 167,000 constituent signatures and letters from MomsRising members to Congress. Our members made nearly 7,500 calls to their representatives and senators. More than 3,200 MomsRising members shared personal stories about how WIC has helped their families.

Thank YOU for the incredible mom power you generated to help protect WIC!

OUR STATEMENT: Full Funding for WIC Is a Major, Meaningful Victory for Moms, Babies, and the Country

NEW CLASS OF BEACONS BRINGS BIG MOM ENERGY

In March MomsRising welcomed its largest class of Beacons, our national volunteer mom leaders.

This year we expanded our Beacons mom leaders network to 117 moms and caregivers from across the country – from Alaska to Alabama, from New Mexico to Tennessee – who have committed to a ten-month leadership development and power-building program.

Beacons partner with us and each other to participate in all kinds of power-building events, including meeting with elected representatives, holding meetups, delivering petitions, writing letters to the editor, doing media interviews, participating in our MomsVote work, and helping out in other ways at strategic moments, like when legislation is moving. Each and every one of such actions makes a big difference – and collectively makes a huge wave of change.

Your contributions sparked this huge new wave of mom power. Thank you!

STATE HIGHLIGHTS

New Hampshire MomsRising members Jenny Belmont Earl (pictured left) and Glory Mukendi (pictured right) testified at a hearing for a bill that would establish minimum job qualifications for the state’s education commissioner. Donations help us train and support volunteer mom leaders like Jenny and Glory to share their stories with lawmakers and the media and shape public policy.

Washington State celebrated several MOMumental wins at the end of the 2024 state legislative session, including expansion of paid sick days, improvements in paid family and medical leave, increased funding for child care, and more.

MOMSRISING IN THE NEWS

NEWSWEEK: Moms Are in Crisis. The GOP Wants to Keep Them There.
“In vote after vote, Republican leadership stands in the way of policies that most other industrialized nations already have in place: Paid family and medical leave after a new baby arrives or a serious health crisis strikes; affordable high-quality child care so parents can work, children can thrive, and care workers can have living wages; accessible aging and disability care; mental health care; and the full suite of reproductive health care from IVF to birth control to abortion care.” — MomsRising Executive Director Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner

MS. MAGAZINE: They Never Deserved to Be Called ‘Pro-Life’
“There are things I know: Anti-abortion leaders will always try to escape responsibility for the destruction they have wrought.” – MomsRising Maternal Justice National Director Tina Sherman

EMPLOYEE BENEFIT NEWS: Employers and employees face legal risks amid abortion 'trafficking' laws
“Some people will be forced to go through pregnancies that are bad for their health and their families. We have to fight like hell to protect the rights our grandmothers and mothers fought so hard for.” – MomsRising Senior Vice President and COO Monifa Bandele
